Also, all these cases set aside, the inmates have to sit around and wait for their death. no matter how long they have to wait, they have to sit and know that they will be dying. They also have their families to think of. They think about how much pain they must be causing them and how much pain the victims families must be going through. I imagine that can be quite overwhelming.

People who are on death row have to stay in a cell block for most of the day, even when inmates leave their cell block they're handcuffed the entire time and still alone. With so much isolation inmates will think about what they did and regret everything.
