I think that the world is flat figuratively speaking because the technology and the outsourcing of jobs has leveled the playing field to where Americans do not get the better jobs. Anyone from North America to Asia can get a good paying job. So everyone in the world is on a flat and/or level playing field, everyone has an equal oppurtunity if they choose to use it. No longer will Americans get the better job they will have to compete with everyone around the world to get that good paying job it's not determined by where you live anymore. Ruben Garcia
I agree that the world is flat because in the text we read it talks about the playing field beccoming more leveled because people in india are getting more jobs and doing the same stuff that we are doing and also because people in india dont have to emmigrate to america just to get a good job -Brittney Ainsworth
I believe the world is really flat. Now many places in the world now are behind in the global market. People all over the world can get jobs because of the internet. In the text "It's a flat world after all" the author points out that people in India are doing the jobs we don't want to do in America. Because of this more and more people are becoming succesful. The author also says that "the playing field is leveled". Now that people who have less education than us are taking our jobs, what are we going to do to compete? Michael Deshaies B block
It says in the article today in class we read.....computers became cheaper and dispersed all over the world, and there was an explosion of email software, search engines like Google and proprietary software that can chop up any piece of work and send one aprt to Boston, on e aprt to Bangalore and one part to Beijing, making it easy for anyone to do remote development. The countries like India were now able to compete equally for global knowledge work as never before and that America had better get ready for this, the playing field is being leveled.
i believe that as swift as lightning communications and technology put people all over the globe in touch as never before-creating an explosion of wealth in India and China, and challenging the rest of us to run even faster just to stay in place at the top. So in a way i belive that the world is flat and we are all connected.

I feel as though the world is flat in the aspect that as much as people don't like to think that there is, if one works hard, asserts himself in a respectable manner, and builds themselves up however he/she feels appropriate, they can achieve what they desire. This is regardless of skin color, ethnicity, location, religion, etc. For example, when my Xbox 360, made by Microsoft, a predominantly American company, broke and I called customer service, my assistant was not of the American variety, they happened to be Indian. I have heard many similar stories as well. People in America often feel as though they can slack because they have some kind of non-existent upper hand, when in reality, anyone who's better can take what their position. Things won't just be given anymore, they must be taken.
I believe that the world is flat because, as the future is approaching us things are beginning to become more leveled and to fall in place. As for Indians now they have great jobs mostly because of technology. Which technology is getting more advanced everyday
Due to the technology in this day and age i feel that everyone is infact on the same playing field as more immigrants come into this country to create newwer and better lives than they've had before i think they work harder to achieve their goals and that is why more and more americans are starting to loose their jobs to immigrants from countries like india, japan, china, mexico, exc..
