Should Immigrants to America assimilate to American culture?

I think that immigrants that come to America should assimilate. One reason why they should do this is because it will help them to get better jobs because they would know how to speak english.It would also save the government money from having to pay for programs to teach people english. When immigrants don't assimilate it will cause there to be a division in the country. Maybe if the immigrants assimilated there would be less prejudice toward them.

I think that immigrants should keep the part of their culture that they want to keep. I also think they should assimilate into american ways learning english will help them communicate with other Americans, and better job oppurtunities. But learning another language doesnt mean you forget the one you already know it could be the part of the culture they decide to keep. For example in the video Rosa didnt know any English maybe if she did there would be a better chance of getting her kids to the U.S. Since she is also without a job knowing english would present more jobb oppurtunities since that is the language most employers speak.

I do think that immigrants should be forced to assimilate without completely giving up their ways because they should have no need to bow to the demands of "real" Americans who worship a large land mass that is nothing more than that. I do think that they should be forced to assimilate to the degree that they learn to fluently speak and write English though because it is a far more widely used language, not just in North America, but in Europe, which is a large continent, along with various parts of South America, Asia, etc. Therefore, if these people learn proper English, they aren't limited to working 9-5 in a country where they are often unjustly hated, but they could go elsewhere, granted they have the funds, with little difficulty.

i think that immigrants should assimilat to the American culture. They should also learn english. Because they maybe able to get a better job so they can earn more money. Also they maybe able to get there green card.Then they can send for their family to live with them.Like the lady that was trying to get kids so they can go to school in America.
I think that immigrants comeing over from diffrent countries to american should be able to keep their culture near and dear to their heart, However they should have to put some of america into them since they will be living there. In america we are suppose to be diversed and diffrent but if we make everyone follow the same rules and become the same people what good is that going to do us? People need to be able to express themselves and a lot of people do that through their culture.

Immigrant should partly assimilate, such as learning English, it will make it easer to get a job in America, plus thier own native languages will also boost their chances of getting jobs, esecially if its Spanish the second largest language in the world. They shoud not give up all of their customes, and cultures that they came from, its all different costomes that made America, America. -Will
i believe that immigrants should learn how to speak english because they are comming to America and it will be very difficult for them to understand what to do. especially if they want a job
