Chapter2: Animalism worked by basically animals taking over the farm. They would follow everything Major taught them and they thought the best thing to do would be to overpower the other people in a rebellion.
Okay. Now I understand that Mr. Jones represents the Czar.

Chapter2: Animalism worked by the animals making their own rules and running the farm. They basically ran him out of his own farm by a rebellion and took over

So the way animalism worked is that the animals would overthrow their ruler, or Jones. And they would then run the farm following the seven commandments. The basis of animalism is that anything with two legs was an enemy and anything with four was a friend. Life after the rebellion started out a little bit difficult because the animals had to become accustomed to their new lifestyle. After that, life was great for the animals. They all seemed to enjoy living without Jones in charge. But I think that the pigs are taking advantage of the other animals just because they are the most intelligent creatures there. And then the cat doesn't full fill it's quota of work. And Boxer seems to be doing more work than any other animal which is a little unfair even if he does enjoy it all. But overall, life seems to be more enjoyable for all of the animals.

Before the revolt life for the animals were miserable and they were all on the same page . Now they are more happier that the have control but certain animals are rising above the rest and taking control that other do not appreciate
Seven commandments of animalism:
1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
3. No animal shall wear clothes.
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
7. All animals are equal.
I wish all humans followed commandments 5, 6, and 7. You know, except for the part that says "animal".
The animals on the farm are learning to read after the revolution just like the peasants in Russia. The animals are happier so far and are rewarded for their work with food. I like cats, but I don't trust the sneaky ways of the cat in this story. I wonder who it represents in the Russian revolution.

Before, the animals on the farm worked very hard and they never got anything in return. Now they still do the work but they get stuff in return.
I understand the represntation of Mr. Jones represnting the Czar. He represents it because he is the one that is in charge of the animals and he acts like if he was the king of all the animals and the animlas are the Russian people.
I agree with Elena that people should follw those rules. I believe that because people should not drink that much and poeple should never kill. Also people should all be equal because some pople think that they are better than other pople but they ae really not better than everyone.

The big part of animalism is that 4 legged creatures are friends and 2 legged ones are enemies. I wonder what these animals would do if they knew monkeys existed.
I guess the pigs are the ones in charge of the farm now. Do you guys think that the pigs will end up being worse than Jones? How bad do you think it will get?

Once again, in response to the most amazing first poster of our group, Rachel, (who is in a group with Emilie, Thra and I)
I agree. The pigs are making it seem as though they are equals with everyone else, on the farm, but really they are gaining outside knowledge and distributing it to the other animals in any way they see fit. The whole all animals are equal thing isn't working out too well, seeing as how the pigs have taken it upon themselves to lead the movement and take charge.

Chapter 2
Now the symbolism is starting to be clear. The farmer represents the Czar and the animals are the people of Russia.Now that they have over powered the farmer (Czar) the are creating a dictatorship run by Major.
Chapter 2: Basically, animalism is the animals of the farm taking power. They have decided to over throw the Czar (In this case Mr. Jones) and live by the seven sacraments that Major had adressed a couple of nights before. Symbolism: The Czar is Mr. Jones and the angry people of Russia are the animals looking to revolt.
I agree with Elena and Jose. Humans seem to think that they are better than one other person when we are all equal to each other. Each one of us breathes the same air yet someone always has to bring up a concept of religion, race, etc.

Animalism worked by them only working which each other (creatures with four legs) no matter what their differences and fighting against man (crature with two legs).

Animalism works by the animals taking over the humans and following rules in which the animals all agreed to. This worked very well because everyone is equal and everyone obeyed the rules.
That wasn't exactly it, Brittney. They were friends with any with four legs, and enemies with any with two legs. They did work together, but because they were friends.
Now i understand the story so far. The farmer represents the Czar and the animals represent the people of russia. Animalism is pretty the 4 legged creatures are friends and partners, while the 2 legged ones (humans) are the enemies. Also the animals created a rebellion and took over, by running the farmer out of the town.

Chapter 3
Farm life before the revolt was hard. Most of the animals were overworked and under appreciated and not fed as much as they needed while as now they have more food and each one of them puts in a fair amount of work. Although now it seems that the pigs are rising up just like the Communists did in Russia and starting to be more in control.
Chapter 3: Farmlife for the animals before the revolt was miserable and depressing. After the revolt the animals and life on the farm was happy and up lifting because everyone had a job and Mr. Jones was not in charge, when he was nothing was done correctly. After the revolt, different animals have different jobs, but everyone has the same amount of pride and dignity.

Chapter 2: According to the pigs, animalism worked by overthrowing their "master", Mr.Jones,.Snowball and Napoleon(the intellegent pigs),reduced the principles of Animalism to seven key commandments and they took control of how the other animals should now behave. The animals were finally able to be free from Mr.Jones.
Chapter 3: the revolt help the animals out in a big way the animals never used to be happy but now they are happy and they feel they could do what ever there willing to do: by cory gardner

After the farm had been revolted the harvest exceeds any that th farm ever had. The animals are all working together now and getting more things done. Now most of the animals are literate and the pigs are taking advantage over the other animals because theyr'e more intelligent.

So for the SECOND question I think that animal life was originally hard and tedious, and they felt that they were not being rewarded enough for their efforts. After the revolt, the animals felt that they were working, but just for themselves. They directly benefited from whatever they and all the other animals that chose to work did.
(and as a note to something unrelated, the little words that you have to type in for it to be sure ur not a robot made me spell nocullen. kenzie would have liked that =])

In chapter 2 the animals or should I say Snowball and Napolean came up with the ideal of Animalism. Animalism basically had 7 rules all revoling around the main argument-humans are bad and you shouldn't do anything that resembles what they do therefore disconnecting them from humans in every way.
Now to comment on my bestest friend in the world Julie's post: I agree strongly with the thought that it was slightly ironic that Snowball and Napolean controlled everything the animals did. One of the rules (number 7) was that all animals are equal! But...none of the animals voted or suggested any ideas about anything. Instead of the animals being 'slaves' to the humans, the animals were 'slaves' to Napolean and Snowball!
Animalism worked basically by the animals learning everything the old major taught them which was to rebel against the humans which worked and when they were done with that they created their seven commandments and called the manor farm the animal farm so basically they are in control.

Before the revolt i think that all the animals really were equal. They might not have been treated as equals to humans but they all we treated the same. Now, The 2 pigs in charge are really on a differnt level than the rest of the farm. Also, the animals are happy about working because they know they are directly rewarded for their efforts. Lastly, there is not many arguments around the barn anymore. There are less quarrels and more peace generally.

Farm life before Animalism was misserable for the animals. They were not getting fed and they were being overworked. After Animalism was established on the farm the animals were getting work done faster and being fed. Farm life was much better after the revolt.

So far through out this novel i am noticing that there is more similarities between the Russian Revolution and the novel than i thought that there would be. Some being of Mr. Jones as the Czar as well at the animals being depicted as farmers or peseants, who like the Russian Revolution farmers taught others how to read and write for the better of their community.

Living on the farm for the animals before the revolt was depressing and unfair to them. After the revolt took place, the animals on the farm were happy and not all that miserable. The animals now rule over themselves, and they don't have Mr.Jones ruing over them himself. Every anmal on the far does their part, and does something different, and they all get recognized for it. The animals on the far feel as if everything has more fairness in it after the revolt

B'yanka (B'yanka&Icelli)- In chapter two, i don't understand how the whole revolution went down. They are all animals! What i don't get is how the animals locked Mr. Jones out of the farm. I was just a gate, why couldn't he just unlock the gate? And he has a gun in the corner of his room, if the animals were acking up, he could've just shoot them, even though that's cruel. What ever happened to Mrs. Jones

I think that in the story, the animals represent the russian people who are living in communism and create anarchy amongst Mr. Jones who is the tyrant after not knowing how to think after being told what to do and think all this time and that the rebellion was inevitably going to happen whether it was the animal or not because of the system they lived in

Animalism was the law of the animals after they over threw the people on the farm. they would follow all of major jones teacings and rules they would make up. also their only comrades were those with 4 legs not 2(they were the enemy). it was also hard for some of the animals to become acustom to this new life where they were in control. For example the horse had a hard time because she liked to wear ribbons, but the leaders ( the pigs) would scorn her for that since they represented the power thee humans had over the animals.For the most part their new lives were enjoyed by all of the animals but it seemed that the pigs had started to take advantage of thier positions..that was not good and could possibly end badly...but for the most part it was all good.
