Discuss the preceding question: •How did the intevention serve American interests?(evaluation) Try to develop new questions about America's role in Latin America and our committment to freedom and democracy in the region. Cite facts from the case studies. A response that does not directly cite facts from at least two case studies will not be read and is not an effective response.

I think that the Intervention helped America and it also didnt help America. When America intervened in Panama it helped them because they were able to defend Panama. he intervention in Argentina didnt serve America in any way because in the end, America wasn't able to save the Argentine Generals.

In A block my Group focused on The Domincan Republic. What happend was that lyndon jOhnson President after keenedy invaded the D.R whic started the veitnam war also know as the cold war. I also know that they intervienned because the D.R to be A second Cuba.

How did the interventon serve America interest?
Well in class today me and Latia did the country Panama and we had to answer this question. Our answer was it served American interest because it succeded in defending Panama and it went through the intervention ideas. We read this article about a man named Manuel Noriega whose alias was the "scarface" of Central America. He just bacically was a drug dealer and the United States wanted the country to be safe and not harmed by Noriega's business.
Just like Tyshaun, My group did the Dominican Republic. We did what we had to do, and we did the powerpoint. We chose the powerpoint because we thought that the Google Page would take too long, and we did not have enough time to begin with in the first place. So in our powerpoint, we just answered the questions on the paper, and just talked about them.
I believe that the intervention helped because we ended up successfully defending panama. We also tried to to help out argentina. we did not get anything out of helping them and we also did not succeed in protecting argentina.
But in all i believe that we mostly helped out latin america.
i think the intervention really didnt help America because it makes more country hates us. even though we get more land, its puts America in a open spot for attack.
How did the intevention serve American interests?
I believe that when America intervened they ended out leaving behind terrible messes for people.For example, in Chile they took out one leader and they installed one who left many people of Chile in poverty or some killed. When America did get themselves invovled in things I think that there were points where they should've just minded their buisness.In a huge way it disconnected us from some people who could have helped us out somehow because we basically messed up their lives by intervening.
Okay when America intervined with Dominican Republic. When they did so D.R got destryoed because they got invaded and tored down. But also they had a good side becase they can build back up their economy and make it stronger. But the Americans didnt really get anything because in the end they didnt really gain anything.

The intervention in Argentina really didn’t serve American interests because it did nothing to help American interests. Reagan’s U.N. ambassador decided on his own that he would take sides with them instead of Britain. But at the same time when the U.S. went to the Dominican Republic, about three thousand Dominicans lost their time and that really isn’t good.
The intervention served American intrest because usally it was for the reson to save American lives which was the case with the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo where we killed 3,000 of their citizens to save American lives that were not in serious danger. The other reason why i would say we try to controll coutries is for the fact that we feel they are being run in a horrible way or to spread democracy across the world as in the case of Panama with Manuel Noriega. We should stay out of other countries and focus on our own problems.
the only way that i think america had helped at it self in latin america, is by looking at the thing that would help them out tnhe most. at this time america just wanted to kiip friends and not upset anyone of argentina. i can only use argentina as a source becouse we did not present in class today, but what i said above is applyed to argentina. that is becouse america wante dto keep argentina as friends, even if it ment makeing europe mad.
I beleive that it did not serve American interests. It only served those running America. Kissinger and Nixon backed a coup that overthrew Salvador Allende because he was a leftist. he was a leftist and he had plans for Chile so we needed to run him out and put an evil, harsh ruler that executed some 30,000 people but as long as hes not leftist hes alright. This does not serve American interests because America's interests is to spread democracry and what we did was overthrow a president of Chile and threw a dictator in charge. That is not democratic and does not serve the interests of America. I want to know why America needs to butt into everyone's business? and why do we have to be so sneaky and secrative about things?
