After completing our Middle East projects, we had a vibrant discussion regarding what the U.S. should do in the Middle East. What should the U.S. do in the Middle East?The Us Should step down if one country doesnt the sheding of blood will countine and there will never be a conclusion to the war.
What leads you to believe this is the best option? This leads me to believe that this is the best option because we have tried almost everything possible and it has not worked we need some type of peace and this might be the only way.

i believe that America needs to cut ties with the middle east. it is apparent that no one wants us there and we aren't helping out. todAY in class a student mentioned that if america leaves iraq it wont stop the fighting since there is an ongoing civil war. well all the stopping may not stop but if American troops leave the fighting won't be about us. Also america can focus n bigger problems and ongoing events like the presidential elections and where to get oil instead of trying to force a country to have democracy when they are obviously against it.
The U.S. Should remain in the Middle East in order to continue to obtain oil, and to continuing to help to create a democratic form of government. This is the best option because if we do not help the Middle East it will fall apart. I am only concrened about the oil because millions of people require it daily for not only transportation but also for heating their homes.
i think we need there oil but we need to keep out of their buisness. We should have a base so we can keep the oil safe. If america does not have oil we will fall apart. I think the war was bad but we need teh oil.

I think that the U.S. should just get out of the Middle East while we are still ahead. The longer that we stay there the worse things are going to get for everybody in the United States. The U.S. continues to stay in the Middle East, but what are they really doing, because the only things that are happening are bad. More people continue to die on a regular basis whether they are American troops or Iraqis. I think that the best option is to leave because by and when we finally do finish the U.S. is going to be in such a debt that it is going to take forever to pay everything we owe. The U.S. right now is paying for over half a trillion dollars right now and it is estimated that by the time we finish it will be over 3 trillion dollars. That was something that could have been eliminated if the president didn’t decide that we had to invade the Middle East, just because he thought there were weapons of mass destructions, where there have not been any found.
i disagree howeer with jack becasue by staying there to spread democracy we make the people of those countries hate us more because they dont want change and eventually our allies in the middle east will become our foes and foes with band togethere with the rest of our used to be friends and it will be bad for america
I think that they should leave the middle east because nothing is happening up all they aedoing is killing the people. By staying up there they ae creating conflict for themselves. They should just send the people home, and we can stop all people from dieing the middle east. Like the ones who dont wanna listen to us, so we should just go like they want us to and leave them alone and they'll leave us alone. It's a fai situation for both regions.

I think that the United Staes should stay in Iraq. I think that this is a good idea because even though we are losing American individuals everyday, we are there for a good cause. We are helping bring peace to another country. With this, I am concerned about how long it will take before we are able to bring comlete peace to Iraq and the Middle East. Amount of time, number of lives lost, and howmuch money will be spent. Money that this country needs to get out of debt.

A: I t hink that the United States needs to try to get all of the troops together so that they can return home. Once we get the troops out of the Middle East then we can start repaying the debt and helping rebuild Iraq and all the other countries affected. We need to try to help the Iraqi people find a leader that will control the country without hurting the people. That is what this whole war is partially over. That is what I think that we should do about the war in Iraq.

A: I believe that taking the troops out of Iraqs and helping them rebuild their country would stop them from hating us more. If we can create the peace and save our country from being in termoil from Iraq then we can help save ourself. The Iraqi people only have only so much strength and only so much power, but being a powerful country we should try to stop being such a dictatorship and try to help by using our skills of being peaceful. If we want world peace so much then we would have to acheive it by working on it.

The United States should just step down from the war because it's been too long and it's becoming redicolus. Also, most of our money is going towards that and not going towards something useful. Another thing, thousands and thousands of people are dying for what? I still ask that question today.
What lead's me to this? Lots of things. Since George Bush isn't going to anything about this war. This is why so many American people hate him even me and my family. I don't even know why people still vote for him.
My concerns: Well, I don't have any concerns about this because I think when we have a new president {I'm praying to god that it is Omama} that he will make a change in America and it will become a better place for the American people.
My worries are if Hiliary becomes president nothing will change. WHEN I MEAN NOTHING WILL CHANGE NOTHING WILL. She will just have Bill do everything for her and she will follow. Also, in a worksheet the question was if she was to become president would she still have the troops in Iraq? Her answer was yes and that made me so upset. Why? What for? Obama opposed the war from the begining and I completly agree with his decision to bring the troops home. What mother, Father or any other relative would want their child to suffer something like this? I wouldn't. I would move out of America if this country doesn't have a change in the next year.
My thoughts: Well, I have a lot of thoughts starting with the economy. UM IS ANYBODY PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GAS PRICES THESE DAYS?????????????????????????????? I KNOW I AM!!!! I wonder, how much will gas cost in the near future {probably when I grow up} probably half of America will have to take the bus to work or to anywhere. Also, will our children be safe from the rapists and other crazy people out here? I know, if and when I have children I would want them to be safe and not harmed by any strangers. Also the children are growing up in a hostile society and that will probably make them to grow up being a hostile person if they had a chance. I think that the US should get out of the war with Iraq but keep their ties with the Middle East. The Middle East is the mail supplier of oil for America and it is too important for America to have oil for them to cut their ties with the Middle East completely. I also think that by pulling out of Iraq the security of America will be at risk because the extremists in Iraq could lead an attack on America but it is important to get American troops out of Iraq.

I agree with what Matt said because the countries in the Middle East can handle their own business. They dont need America getting in their way. No matter how much America thinks that they are always right they aren't. The American way of living isn't the only way of living or even the best way of living.
The U.S. should go to the middle east so we can get some of the oil that we need as of right now. Gas prices are increasing because everyone demands oil and we need to save the oil that we have. I believe this is that because we have are losing on oil and the middle east has all of the oil that we need and getting this can lower gas prices and other things. My concerns is that when people want oil they try to get. For example cars have gas and gas is exspensive. When people dont have money and dont have money for gas they might try to think about stealing gasoline out of people's cars and this woudnt be right.

1.I think that in the Middle East the U.S should stop trying to force the middle eastern people to give up their oil. They should instead try to make more enviromentally friendly products for all oil based products.
2.By doing so we can protect this resource even though it is renewable, and better the environment by doing so. We can use other sources of energy that does not use oil.
3.I believe that without oil Americans would have a harder time adjusting, and also it would at first be a little expensive for consunmers to live without oil. but as time goes by the american society will pay less for energy sources that are substitutes for oil and it will help the environment to be cleaner and last longer for future generations.
I think that we should get out of the middle est but we should instill the ideals of Democracy.

i agree with you, but not taoatly. the reaseonwhy i say this is becouse if we set a base up we would just be doing what we did in saudi arabia. i beleive we went there so that we could basicaly keep an eye on oil, and the people didnt like that. i think we should just get uot of their business,like you said, but we have no need to worry about oil "they need us." I think we should laeve them alone because we keep going over there wasting money and not getting anything. Its like they just want to tourcher them. The only concer that i have about leaving right now is that we may have a lot of future problems with the middle east because of all this. I agree with Alexis. We need to pull the troops out of the Middle East so we can start biulding back our alliance with the Middle East. If we build back what we lost in the Middle East, i predict gas prices will start to decrease, food will slightly decrease, and our econamics will be inturn, better.
My personal beleif which might be different from my peers is that we (America) should try are hardest to spread democracy to the Middle East. If we suceed in doing this there will possibly be a great affect on the Middle East as a whole.
Why have we been in the middle east so long? I do not know the answeer to to this question but i do know a possible solution to get the U.S. out faster. We should simply try are hardest for the next year or so to get the Middle eastern people to agree with and want to adapt a democratic form of government. If we do this it will make a huge impact into getting these Middle Eastern countrys back on the right track. The Democratic form of government would a great amount of power to the people and with that more freedom. If they adopt this form of government they will have a say in almost everything instead of being told what to do in their previous form of government. Simply my concerns, worries and thought are that if America tries to spread democracy that the Middle Eastern people will take it as a sign that we are trying to controll them. They will think on first hand that we are trying to take them over more than what we have already done. They have been pushed alot and i think they are on the edge of a revolt. That is my other worrie if we try to spread are government to the Middle East they will automatically think we are trying to take away their religion as in the case with the Muslims in Eygpt. And if they feel this way they will want to harm are people with no remorse, and to fight back more than they already have.

In class we had to present our google group pages and I still stick with my plan to enforce some democracy and freedom there because it just seems like the bes way to go. We hav followed that plan for so long and it has been working so I say stick with the waythat usually works for the people of the world. Of course it won't be easy, but we have to be determined and get the job done.
I get what Paige is trying to say, but I think that cutting ties will only cause our nation problems. Some people in the Middle East cut ties with us already and it has brought the people many problems. Gas prices have raised and they will only get higher. The thing is that we would either have to make cars more eco-friendly which costs loads of money or we would have nothing. It just seems too rash of a decision to make to me. The buisness part of the tie we have them should not be cut just because there are huge social issues there.

The one major thing that I wonder about is why would the U.S. go into war with people who had nothing to do with anything. It makes me sick to my stomach that we have a government like this that lies to the people of the nation. When I think about it I can understand why Osma dispised so many American people. We are power hungry and we can be rude. Intruding on their land was something we didn't want someone doing long ago, but then we go and do the same to someone else. It just makes us seem like very hypocritical people who just want things to be our way. I believe that we should choose better people to represent the nation that we call home because if we don't I think that we will be left with loads of problems as the years pass.
