the base in cuba is not a violation of human rights. i say this because they give the ones that be have well all diffrent things to do acoording document f they get checkers cards and cups to drink out of. also they are given annocement when it is time to pry and they are given a koran and every thing they need to lead a religious life.
I think that Guantanamo bay is in violation of human rights because it houses supposed terrorists, they don't know for sure that they are terrorists; they couldactually be no threat to anyone. In document N from the Magna Carta it said, "...or in any way destroyed nor will we go against him, except by the lawful judgment of his peers or by the law of the land." No one should be punnished in any way unless it is proven that they have done something wrong. Most of the people in Guantanamo Bay have been given a fair trial they were all just captured and accused.There could be people in there that haven't done anything wrong but are still kept there.
I do not think it is right for them to be sending people to jail for something they did not do that means they are not following the human rights. People have no right to send innocent people to prison for being in the rong spot at the rong time.
The Guantanamo Bay US Naval detainee camps are a violation of human rights. Even though the detainees get certain things such as checkers,cards and cups, these are only given to them on good behavior. Most of the detainees that cooperate with the US are kept in camps 1-4. All of the other detainees that decide not to cooperate with the US are kept in the much higher security camps of 5
and 6. One man, named Riyad al Haj was captured in 2001 and is still detained in the camp because he was mistaken for another man with the same name. He doesnt deserve to be in there because he didnt do anything. One former detainee by the name of Moazzam Beggs stated, " i witnessed two people get beaten so badly that i believe it caused their deaths." This shows that the camps arent as safe as people would expect them to be.
we are in violation of human rights because we are holding peolpe in jail based on Conspiracies. not all peole are terrorists and done deserve jail time. some cant even go back home after their convictions, so where do they go. they stay in prision but that isnt a replacment for their own home.
I really totally disagree about the whole thing. Why would you put innocent people in jail for absolutly nothing? I would be pissed off and annoyed. Jail? For nothing? Come on people get real. There is not life behind those walls. No people, not entertainment no nothing. In class today, I seen the clothing, the inmates and everything. Even the security is heavy. If your in jail, they make sure you will not get out. That is so crazy. If I was in jail for nothing, I would be pissed off, mad, upset and just misunderstood. I would make sure that my lawyer would have some say in this.
In a way I do think that these detention camps are a violation of human rights, but at the same time I don’t think they are. Detainees do have their good and bad things, but for them being prisoners they are not being violated of their human rights. These detainees are given checkers, cards, and cups when they are well behaved. But they also have an arrow that is pointed to Mecca to remind them how far they at, I think that violated their human rights because it’s like they are being teased. And once they are in Cuba there is no way of communication and they are out of sight. But then when they are given clothing and toiletries it likes reminds me that they are not being violated because at least they are given this much. And once they get to Cuba, Guantanamo Bay it is for a reason and there are 660 prisoners there that are dangerous enemies to the war on terror so that makes it seem less like their rights are being violated.
I didsagree with Guantanamo Bay because this is a violation of human rights for example, they have no real evidence against these people. The law process is not secure when it comes to terrorist and these people have no real solid facts that these people are even the people that were suspected. In the Amendment it talk about depriving people from life, liberty, and pursuit of hapiness but isn't that what we are doing by keeping people in Guantanamo?

Discussion: The Guantanamo Bay U.S. Nacy detention camps are a violation of human rights because they hold people against their own will. The United States Declaration of Human Rights states, "Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person." It also states that, " All are equal before the law and are entitled without discrimination to equal protection of the law." These mean that people are able to live the way that they need to live without any sort of problem, and these camps don't allow this.
I believe that Guantanamo Bay does not violate human rights. The people are given their prayer rights, they are given food and beds, they are not beaten and they are released when all suspicions are gone.however i think that the period of time that a person is detained should be shortened.
I think that Guantanamo Bay didn't violate the Human Rights because the deetanes got to worship freely still and got to do watever the want. Just with a few restrictions and different rewards. But then again they were violating it because they got beaten and captured and didn't know where they were. But the detanees still got to do what they pleased

I do not think that Guantanano Bay is a violation of human rights. I thiknk that even though they are taken away from civilization and brought to a place where they are out of sight, actually gives them a sense of security. Also, the detainees are a treated with clothing and toiletries.
bI beleive that Guantanamo Bay U.S. Nacy detention camps are violating human rights. Because according to the 14th amenment everyone no matter were they are from have rights. They have a right to prove that they are innocent. also in is againced te amenment to just take these people hostage just under a suspition. They are put into those camps for life without any say and they are put their for life and they might not have done anything. They keept one guy their named riyad al hij and he is being kept their till this day just because his name is the same as one of the terrorists. These camps end up violating human rights no matter how you look at it.
i think that the prison is a violation of human rights because its harshness isnt justified by anything. acoording to the constituion no person should be held for a capital of infamous crime without having a trial in the prescence of a grand jury. alo they are being deprived of life, liberty, and property without due process of law because most of them are being held there without proof that they are terrorist. the government just think that they are terroist, they dont really have anything against them.

I think that Guantanamo Bay is a violation of human rights because according to the Constituion Amendment 14, "All persons born in the U.S, and subject to the Jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the U.S. Nor shall any state deprove any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws"
I feel that if there was no crime recorded against the person, there should be no capture and there should also be a trial to help them be released. You cant just hold a person if you have nothing against them and you cant keep them from having a proper trial. That's wrong and everyone should have a chance to be proven innocent.
I think that Guantanamo Bay does not violate human rights. I dont think so because it is a detention camp run by the US at a naval base in Cuba. The camp was established in January 2002 to hold terror suspects captured in the War on Terror. In Document "L" there was a picture that shows the detainees getting basic physical examination by a Doctor. The detainees got to worship freely and got to do watever the want. Cuba isnt being fair with the violation of human rights. "No freeman shall be captured or imprisoned or dissiesed or outlawed or exiled." This means that any freeman that looks like terrorist shouldnt be captured if they look like they're muslims. If your free you should be able to be or do anything you want. Also another quote is "nor shall we go against him,except by the lawful judgement of his peers." This means that we shall not bring him in trial and not have his people there to back him up cause it wouldnt be any fair to him. There is at least 50 prisoners that are guilty that captured for no reason. They should free them now!
Guantanamo Bay is a complete violation of human rights. I say this because in the United States Constitution it states "Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person." This does not just say American citizens but EVERYONE deserves the rights to life, liberty and the security of person. The Constituion also states no person should be held for a capital of infamous crime without having a trial in the prescence of a grand jury. Without a court hearing, these men can not be detained on just a whim. Not only does the constitution state this but even back in the early 1200's a decree called Magna Carta states no man can be detained without reason, or in any way destroyed nor will we go against him, except by the lawful judgement of his peers or the law of the land. What the United States is doing at Guantanamo Bay is they are detaining with no court hearing, without reason and are exiled to a maximum security prison to never be seen again unless they are set free by the U.s. Military. Therefore, Guantanamo Bay IS a violation of human rights even if they are suspected of being terrorists.
America. the word has a different meaning for many people, and some hate it. i beleive that WE have the right to detian possible terrorists if they my be subjects or minions to terror on our country. alot of people say that they are not "prisoners pf war", then what are they? they are prisoners of war. they call it the war on america, we call it the war on terror, so in terms, they are prisoners of war. plus human rights and and international laws. when you break them, your screwed. terrorists break them, thats why we have places like Guantanamo Bay to keep them. the zones on the militray base were the detainees stay are aot more comftorable then any prison in the US. Most of the prisoners that have been released, are considerably healthier, then they were all ther lives. personally i hate it when ignorant people form other countries critize and insult America for what we are doing, there country ai'nt donig ----, so what can they talk about. they only know what the media tells athem, and media in america is (believe it or not) biased. they all have there hidden agenda. america spends more money on helping ILLEGAL immigrants, than the war in Iraq, prisoners, and very well possibly oil itself. i dont care what you think, act or say, this is my opinion, and thats just about it. - ian
I think when people put others who did no wrong in jail is so mean,cruel and un-fair. It affect's people thoughts and feelings. In the situation that happned on 9/11. Now people think that all Musilim people are terrosit o have some type of liquid or bomb that can hurt people. And i think it is very wrong to judge those kind of people and others. Like when a black man steal people would think that all black men steal. When 1 family member getsd pregganet and have a child mostly their sibling or somebody really close to them might go ahead and get preganet. People in the world today are very cruel to all kinds of people and i think it is un-fair.
